weekend reflection 6

                     After completing our sixth-week teaching practice, an online reflection commenced at 7 pm, under the guidance of Kavya miss. She warmly welcomed everyone and initiated the process of inviting each school to share their reflections. Lincy, Parvathy, and Hari from SKVHSS Thrikkanamangal shared their valuable experiences with revision and invigilation. Teena and Anjana from SNMSHSS Ellampallor. then provided insights into their revision strategies. Amrutha from KNMVHSS Pavithreshwaram shared thoughtful perspectives on revision and exam duties. Subsequently, Divya from DVVHSS Thalavoor elaborated on her revision experience and highlighted various school activities. Nazrin and Sandra from Krist Raj Kollam shared their personal experiences, particularly focusing on their duties related to laptop maintenance for the school. Jane and Ashna from St.Mary's Adoor discussed their approach to revision, while Aiswarya and Rahul from Govt.HSS Padanilam shared detailed accounts of their class duties. Gayathri from MAMHS Chengamanadu shared insights into their Christmas day celebration and the assistance provided to students during practice. During our turn, Madhav and I from MTHSS Valakom shared our experiences regarding Christmas day celebration and participation in the program. Megha and Sajin from St George VHSS shared their experiences with revision and exam discipline duties. Lastly, Ryni and Shehanas from Marthoma HS Arimurikada shared their insights into revision and peer observation. Marthoma HS for Girls Kottarakara then shared their experiences conducting diagnostic tests. Following that, Amilu and Nithya from Govt.HSS Anchalumoodu discussed their roles in exam duty and Christmas celebration. The reflection session came to a close at 9 pm.

Weekly reflection

            In our sixth week, we were assigned for exam duties.  On this week we conducted christmas day  celebration. The Christmas exams spanned from December 13 to December 22, with two shifts each day: the morning session ran from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and the afternoon session took place from 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm. Throughout this period, I was assigned for both exam duty and discipline duty every day.

Christmas day celebration

           The Christmas celebration at MTHSS Valakom occurred on December 12, 2023, just a day before the Christmas exam. On this day, the Christmas program took place, preceded by the inauguration ceremony of the School IT lab. Rev. Dr.P. J Mamachan had the honor of inaugurating the lab. Following the prayer section, the Christmas program commenced, featuring Christmas songs, messages, dances, skits, and more. The celebration concluded with a delightful Christmas carol, showcasing the participation of both teachers and students. The event wrapped up with the distribution of cakes.

Weekend reflection 5

               The general reflection for the fifth week occurred in the college seminar hall at 10 am, led by Principal Riju sir, who delivered a welcoming speech. Anjali, representing SKVHSS Thrikamannamankal in the natural science department, discussed the election and a visit from the physical education sir. Amina, from SNMSHSS Ellampallor in physical science, shared her revision experience and details about the list prepared for remedial class students. KNMVHSS students were absent during their scheduled time. Ruby, representing DVVHSS Thalavoor in physical science, discussed a class conducted for teenage students and shared her revision experience and details about the list prepared for remedial class students. Christraj School in Kollam had no representation during the reflection. Jane, representing St. Mary's Adoor in English optional, discussed their school's election and assembly. Aiswarya and Rahul, representing GHSS Padanilam in English optional, focused on the election conducted in their school. Gayathri, representing MAMHSS Chengamanadu in English optional, talked about the election and the inauguration of the teens club. Aneeta, representing MTHSS Valakom in mathematics, discussed the election and shared the group's experience. Sajin and Megha, representing St. George VHSS Chowallor in English optional, followed.

Arsha from MTHSS Arumurikada focused on the election conducted at their school. Aswathy, representing MTHSS Kottarakara in mathematics, discussed the teens club inauguration, general observation, and a budding writers program. GHSS Anchalumood was not present during their designated time. Following them, Neenj represented St. Mary's School Kizhakethirivu in mathematics optional. Fathima, from VGAHSS Nediyavila, provided information about the program organized by Vidhya Ragam Kala Sahitya Vedhi, while Amala, representing DVDM Veliyamm, shared her insights.

Neelu, representing mathematics optional at AEPMHSS Irumbanagad, provided insights into the election and various experiences. Sneha, representing social science optional at GHSS Pooyapalli, offered observations and shared insights from their optional observation and physical education visit. Sreeedevi, from GHSS Perumkulam, focused on the election conducted at their school. Devika, representing Gregorious HSS Kottarakara, conveyed information about the activities of the school. Aksa, representing natural science optional at SMHSS Kottara, discussed the numerous substitution periods they encountered. Kavya, representing natural science optional at GHSS Muttara, elaborated on the election and a tour program.

Following these reflections, Riju sir instructed optional teachers - Praveena miss (Natural Science), Kavya miss (English), Akhil sir (Malayalam), and Shreeja miss - to share their experiences during observation. General instructions were given by Riju sir, concluding the session. Different schools' students contributed diverse experiences, offering insights into the challenges faced. In the teachers' reflection, both positive and negative aspects were discussed, contributing to class improvement. The session enhanced understanding of various programs and activities conducted in different schools, making it more effective.

Weekly reflection 5

             The teaching practice's fifth week commenced on 4/12/2023, concluding on 8/12/2023. As teacher trainees, we gained diverse experiences during this period. Participating in the MTHSS Valakom school Parliamentary election on 4/12/2023 was a significant highlight. The elected leaders and chairman took their oath in the assembly the following day. Unfortunately, a strike by a political party led to students taking leave the day after. On Monday, I administered a diagnostic test for the students of 8B class. Additionally, there was a Maths Talent Search examination on 8/12/2023. The school was gearing up for Christmas, with preparations including song rehearsals and assisting teachers with decorations.

Weekend reflection 4

         In our college, after finishing the fourth week of teaching practice, we convened for a weekend reflection at 2:00 pm in our optional class, overseen by Miss Kavya, where twelve of us shared our teaching experiences.

Megha detailed the activities at St. George Chowallor, including a drawing competition for conscientization. Nithya, representing GHSS Anchalumood, discussed personal problems, particularly related to classroom management. Jane, from St. Mary's Adoor, recounted their experience with a judgment for small classes in the arts program and emphasized the warm welcome from the school. Parvathy, of SKVHSS Thrikamannamankal, shared insights into school activities and personal experiences. Gayathri, from MAMHSS Chengamanadu, shared her collected feedback from students about their experiences. Athira, from Mathoma Higher Secondary School Kottarakara, highlighted the abundance of substitution periods in their experience.

Amirtha detailed the problems they faced and organized a conscientization program with a focus on rights. Anjana, representing SNMHSS Ellampallor, voiced concerns about the lack of facilities and ongoing issues. Sandra offered insights into her personal experiences, sharing reflections on her own journey. Divya, from DVVHSS Thalavoor, discussed both her school activities and personal experiences. Shehanaz, representing MTHSS Arumurikada, shared insights into their school activities and overall experience. During our turn, I elaborated on our school activities and the challenges faced with substitution in this session. Aiswarya, representing Padanilam, shared both positive and negative experiences encountered in her classes. The reflection concluded at 3:30.



Weekly reflection 4


       

        During the internship's fourth week, spanning from November 27th to December 1st, 2023, a vision test was administered on the 27th to address the prevalence of computer vision syndrome. Additionally, NCC training took place in the school ground. On the 28th, regular classes were canceled due to a cluster meeting, and the vision test for the remaining students continued on the 29th.
