Weekend reflection 10

 

  • On January 29th, a weekend reflection took place in our seminar hall, marking the end of the first phase of teaching practice. The session commenced at 10 am with a welcome from Veneeth sir, who then invited each school to share their reflections.

Weekly reflection 10

                     During this week, I administered an Achievement Test in my class, and the students performed well. Following that, we arranged a conscientisation program to make awareness about basic First Aid. As a school-based activity, we also held a competition for making postures.

Last day of first phase Teaching practice

       The first phase of my teaching practice concluded on January 24th. On this day, I gathered feedback from students, who recorded their opinions, and I rewarded them with chocolates. In the afternoon, we expressed gratitude to our Headmistress for her invaluable support. I extended my thanks to my mentor teacher for the valuable assistance and guidance provided. Miss blessed me, marking it as one of the most precious moments in my life. Later in the evening, we expressed gratitude to all teachers in the staffroom for their instructions and support. At 4 pm, we departed from the school. In this moment, I express my gratitude to God Almighty for the grace to complete my internship. Subsequently, I would like to thank our Headmistress, my mentor teacher, and Sam sir, our English teacher, for their valuable support and assistance.

Achievement Test

        Today, I administered an Achievement Test in my class, primarily emphasizing the 5th unit "Share and Care" from the 8th standard. The students participated in the exam diligently.







Poster making competition

           A poster making competition focusing on the topic of child labour was held in our school for 8th and 9th standard students during the afternoon as part of a school-based activity. Creative ideas were effectively and interestingly presented by the students through drawings. We had a pleasant experience.











Conscientisation

            



Today, as part of our B.Ed program, we organized a conscientization program at our school. I, along with Aswariya and Mathav, formed a group. Our group created a PowerPoint presentation and deliberated on the importance of First Aid awareness. I initiated the program with an introduction and covered the topic of choking, while Madhav elaborated on the second subject, and Aswariya addressed the third topic, ultimately concluding the program. The students gained valuable insights into the basics of First Aid through this initiative.

Innovative lp

         Today, I implemented an innovative lesson plan in class, focusing on relative pronouns. Classes that deviate from the typical classroom setting tend to engage students more actively.

          On 20th January a weekend reflection was conducted in our optional class after completing the nineth week, overseen by Kavya miss. Miss call each students to express their experience.

Gayathri from MAMHS Chegamanadu shared her positive experience. Lincy, Parvathy, and Hari from SKVHSS Thrikamannamankal shared their personal experiences and discussed school activities. Teena and Anjana from SNMHSS Ellampallor conveyed their school experiences. Positive experiences were shared by Amirtha and Kavya from KNMVHSS Pavithreshwaram. Divya and Anu from DVVHSS Thalavoor shared their school experiences and participation in various activities. Sandra from Christ Raj School Kollam shared insights. Ashna and Jane from St. Mary's Adoor shared their experiences in club activities and school-based activities they conducted.

Rahul shared his experience from GHSS Padanilam. Megha and Sajin from St. George VHSS Chowallor talked about their personal experiences. Shanaz and Ryni from Marthoma HS Arumurikuda shared their insights on the conscientization program. Athira and Sneha from Marthoma GHSS Kottarakara shared their positive and negative experiences.

Different teacher trainees shared various experiences this week, encompassing both positive and negative aspects. The reflection concluded at 3:30 pm.

Weekly reflection 8

        During the ninth week, I conducted an innovative class following the innovative model. On the Next day, To enhance effectiveness of the drama , I used a projector to show "The Merchant of Venice" drama in one of the classes. After that we conducted a yoga practice session for the students. The teaching practice of our friends from RV College concluded this week, prompting us to express gratitude by distributing sweets to teachers, non-teaching staff, and students. Kavya Miss observed my class during our optional observation visit this week, adding to the overall effectiveness of the week.

        During my last class, Kavya miss came to see for our optional observation. Miss visited our school in the afternoon and observed two classes. Kavya miss highlighted our strengths and weaknesses, providing valuable insights that can contribute to our career improvement.

           In our school today, we conducted yoga classes where various asanas from suryanamaskaram were taught. The yoga practice infused the class with heightened energy as students actively engaged in the practice, resulting in a positive and enjoyable experience.

Innovative model

    Today I took a class with innovative model, inspiring the creation of a distinctive house model based on Kamala Das's poem "My Grandmother's House." This autobiographical piece conveys a nostalgic tale, with the speaker yearning to revisit the secure and loving of her grandmother's home. This desire is intensified as she navigates a solitary adult existence, mourning the loss of the safety and comfort she once experienced in her childhood.

Weekend reflection 8

                After completing our eighth-week teaching practice, an optional reflection took place during our optional class, with Kavya miss overseeing. Each school was called upon by Miss to share their experiences. Starting with SKVHSS Thrikkanamangal, Lincy, Parvathy, and Hari shared details about their stress management class and the eye-checking camp conducted in their school. Nazrin and Sandra from Krist Raj Kollam then shared their personal experiences. Following that, Gayathri from MAMHS Chengamanadu discussed her experiences with a PTA meeting, a medical camp for 10th standard students, and a surprise observation by our teacher. Nithya and Amulu from GHSS Anchalumood Aiswarya and Rahul from Govt.HSS Padanilam discussed their school day celebration and conscientization program experiences. Divya and Anu from DVVHSS Thalavoor detailed their reflections on optional activities. In our turn, Madhav and I shared insights into our school activities and programs. Jane and Ashna from St.Mary's Adoor shared their participation experience in an English club program conducted at their school. The reflection session concluded at 3.30 pm.

Weekly reflection

       During the eighth week, a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting took place for 8th and 9th standard students. I had the opportunity to support my mentor teacher during the PTA meeting, and the experience was pleasant for me. On the final day of Samsthana Kalolsavam, numerous teachers were absent, resulting in several substitution periods. Throughout this week, we had the chance to provide food service for the students, making this entire week quite memorable for me.

             The Samsthana Kalolsavam, which took place in Kollam, concluded on the 8th of January. During the final program, numerous teachers from our school joined the Kalolsavam vedhi.                After completing our seventh week an online reflection was conducted. The online reflection started at 3 pm, overseen by Kavya miss. Each school was called to share their experiences, starting with Amilu and Nithya from Govt.HSS Anchalumoodu, who had no classes that week. Following that, Gayathri and Athira from Marthoma HS for Girls Kottarakara discussed their experience with the golden trophy procession. Ryni and Shehanas from Marthoma HS Arimurikada mentioned their absence of periods. Subsequently, Megha and Sajin from St George VHSS shared insights on peer observation. In our turn, Madhav and I from MTHSS Valakom detailed our experiences with Deeksha Kalolsavam. Gayathri from MAMHS Chengamanadu highlighted their feedback obtained from students. Aiswarya from Govt.HSS Padanilam shared experiences related to paper evaluation. Jane and Ashna from St.Mary's Adoor discussed the teaching difficulties they face in the school. Weekly reflection

           After the Christmas vacation, our school reopened in the seventh week, and teachers distributed exam papers to the students. Deeksha Kalolsavam was conducted in our school, in which our students actively participated. We also supported the smooth functioning of the event by assisting the teachers.



Deeksha kalolsavam

            Deeksha Kalolsavam, known as a cultural festival, took place at our school on January 6th for Marthoma school students in the UP section. Numerous students from various Marthoma schools actively participated in the event, featuring competitions in folk dance, mimicry, and elocution. As part of the program, we joined in the festivities and played a role in assisting teachers with the organization of the event.
