Day 12

Today 26th June 2024, I reached the school at 9.25am. after signing the attendance register, I went to staffroom for the meeting. The teacher informed me to stand in IX: B and maintain discipline as the  program on anti drug day was going on. The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was celebrated. Students participated in the rally. A Special assembly this day in the morning to celebrate this day. In the second period l had class on VIII:D.Inthe fourth period, I had substitution. As part of the day,higher secondary students with NCC, JRC, Scout and guide along with the deaddiction centre 'Aashwas", conscientise the public against drug abuse. They provided tags to be pasted on the on the vehicles marking this day. In the seventh period I had substitution. I took question tag in that class. Rest of the time I did my for my upcoming works .After National Anthem, at 3.45pm after signing the attendance register. I left the school at 3.45pm.

      Due to KSU strike, students were not having regular classes. Headmistress informed us not to come to school.

10th day

 


On 24th June 2024, I reached the school campus at 9:35 am. After signing the attendance register, I went to the staffroom for the meeting. Prayer started at 9:45 am. Higher secondary classes began today. In the afternoon, I went to serve food. Higher secondary classes began today. Students were given orientation class. In the fourth and third period I had substitution.Rest of the time I work for the upcoming classes. As per the time table, I had class in VIII:D. At 3.45 National Anthem was sung. I left the school at 4:00pm after signing the attendance register.








Weekend reflection

 The second phase teaching practice's first weekend reflection was conducted on Saturday, June 15th, on Google Meet. Shijini Miss oversaw the reflection. Teena Joy from Govt. HSS Kuzhimathicadu reflected first, mentioning her difficulties in class and having substitute sessions for teaching. Next, Lincy, Harinand, and Parvathy from SKVHSS Thrikkanamangal spoke about the challenges they faced in school, including the Headmaster's scolding attitude. Ashna from St. Mary's Adoor discussed her language barrier issues and initial classroom management problems. Aiswarya and Rahul from Padanilam HSS shared their communication difficulties due to language barriers and their experience with substitute teaching sessions.

Madhav and I then shared our one-week experience, noting the warm reception from the school. A class on awareness and a pledge related to the care of elderly people were conducted. I also implemented my innovative teaching model this week, and the students actively participated. Sajin and Megha from St. George VHSS Chowalloor shared their positive experiences at the school. Ryni and Shehanaz from Marthoma HS Arimurikada talked about their teaching experiences, while Athira and Sneha from Marthoma HS Kottarakara reported a positive experience with cooperative students. Amilu and Nithya from Govt. HSS Anchalumood also shared their positive experiences, and Anjana Rajeev from SNMSHSS Elampalloor reflected on her experiences as well.

Day 9

 Today shijini miss came for our first optional observation. In my second period miss watch my class and provide necessary instruction about my class.  

Day8

 Today our school conducted a yoga day celebration. Students performanced various yoga demonstration and practices on the school under the supervision of physical education sir. It was a good experience for the students.

Day 7


 Today 20th June 2024. at 9:30 am. I went to the office and signed. registor. There was a meeting meeting in the staffroom. Headmistress  says some important informations about the day. After the prayer, pledge and Bible reading the class started at 9:45.  In the second had a substitution. They were engaged their notes. As per the timetable. I was having fourth period. I took my Sixth lesson plan in the class. In the seventh period I had a substitution period. Rest of the I worked for my upcoming classes. The class ended at 8:45 pm with the National Anthom
I left the school at 8:50pm after signing the attendence register.

Day5

 

Today, on June 18th, 2024, I arrived at school at 9:35 am and signed the attendance register in the office. After the prayer, there was a meeting in the staffroom, and classes began at 9:45 am. During the third and fourth periods, I had a substitution and engaged the students with some games. According to the timetable, I had a class in the seventh period with VIII.D, where I completed my fifth lesson plan from "The Mysterious Picture" by Charles de Coster. The class ended at 3:45 pm with the National Anthem. I signed the attendance register again and left the school campus at 3:55 pm.

Weekend reflection

The second phase teaching practice's first weekend reflection was conducted on Saturday, June 15th, on Google Meet. Shijini Miss oversaw the reflection. Teena Joy from Govt. HSS Kuzhimathicadu reflected first, mentioning her difficulties in class and having substitute sessions for teaching. Next, Lincy, Harinand, and Parvathy from SKVHSS Thrikkanamangal spoke about the challenges they faced in school. Ashna from St. Mary's Adoor discussed her language barrier issues and initial classroom management problems. Aiswarya and Rahul from Padanilam HSS shared their communication difficulties due  to language barriers and their experience with substitute teaching sessions. Amurtha from 
KNNM Vocational Higher Secondary School says about their difficulties faced by teaching practice. Divya from Devi Vilasom Vocational Higher Secondary School  Thalavoor says about their difficulties faced class room management.

         From this reflection, I gained insight into the diverse challenges and experiences faced by my peers during their teaching practice and received valuable guidance from Miss to enhance my own teaching methods.









 

Weekly reflection

      Our second phase of teaching practice started on 12th June 2024 at MTHSS Valakom, providing a comprehensive immersion into the teaching profession. Each day began with valuable interactions with the headmistress and mentor teacher, setting a productive tone. Conducting classes on "The Mysterious Picture" and engaging in innovative model-related lessons highlighted the importance of creativity in teaching. Participating in special assemblies on rabies awareness and pledges to protect the elderly underscored the school's commitment to holistic education. Additionally, handling administrative tasks and collaborating with fellow interns provided practical insights into the teaching profession. Overall, these initial days have significantly enhanced my teaching skills and professional growth.

4th day

     Today marks the fourth day of my teaching practice. I arrived at school at 9:30 am and attended the teachers' prayer session. The headmistress then provided an overview of the day's activities. Following this, we went to our respective seats. During the first two periods, I prepared for my upcoming classes. In the fourth period, I covered a substitution period. After lunch, I had another substitution in the sixth period, and I covered another substitution in the last period. At 3:45 pm, the National Anthem was sung, and I left the school after signing the attendance register.

Innovative model


            Today, I presented an innovative model based on the 8th standard English textbook's Unit One, "Hues and Views," specifically the lesson "The Mysterious Picture" by Charles De Coster. I created a palace of the Archduke, which provided a visual image for the students about the story. This model helped students understand the setting of the story and the impact of art.






 


Day 3

      Today is the third day of my second phase of teaching practice. At 9:30 am, a staff meeting was conducted, where the headmistress provided necessary information. The morning prayer and Bible reading gave us a positive mindset.

I had my class during the first period and presented an innovative model lesson. I created a palace of Archduke in Battenburg based on the lesson "The Mysterious Picture" by Charles De Coster, and the students were actively engaged.

After the class, Aiswarya and I handled some school administrative work, following instructions from the headmistress. This collaboration was a good experience for us.

After lunch, I prepared for my next class. During the sixth period, I had a substitution period where I engaged the students with games.

Later, I worked on preparations for my next class, during which a pledge was conducted on protecting elderly people. The NCC cadet led the pledge through the mike, and other students repeated it.

After the national anthem, we left at 3:45 pm. It was a great day for me.









Day 2

     On the second day our school conducted a special assembly based on the rabbi awareness. Staff from health department gave some awareness regarding this issue. After the assembly we move on to the class. Today I started my first lesson, students actively engaged in the class. After this class I go for the substitution classes. After the lunch I got two substitution period. At 3.45 we leave the school.

Second phase teaching practice day one

       As part of B.Ed curriculum second phase intenship program starts today. we a group of eight members from our college came for this intenship. We choose MTHSS Valakom for this programme. I entered the school on 9.30 am and saw headmistress for formal interactive. Then I marked my attendance and saw my mentor teacher. Miss gave me necessary information and I moved to my allotted seat. After this we met students from RV training program for the intenship. After the prayer we made some seating arrangements in the first period. Second period I went to VIII D for taking my class. I started the lesson The  Mysterious picture students attended the class seriously and with enthusiasm. Third period I go for a substitution period for IX.E. I engaged them with activities. In the fourth period I prepared for the next class. After the lunch break I go for substitution. In sixth period and seventh period I made preparation tommorrows class. In the eight period I got a substitution. After the prayer we leave the school at 3.45 pm.
